Pittsburgh is one of those cities that really surprised us. The first thing you see when you drive into the city is the stunning views — Pittsburgh is surrounded by mountains, bridges, and rivers which makes you feel like you are inside of a painting. Pittsburgh is actually known as the city of bridges because there are 446 bridges in the city, more than in any other city in the world! It’s got a very industrial vibe, and the 3 rivers that surround the city made it an ideal place for trade back in the day. We visited The Burgh during Memorial Day weekend and had such a fun time exploring. Read on to see our weekend guide for things you can’t miss in Pittsburgh!

Where to Stay in Pittsburgh

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown and thought it was in the perfect location for almost everything we wanted to see. We could walk to almost everything or it was a short drive away. We had a nice view of the city skyline from our window as well. We love staying at Hilton’s because of their CleanStay program so we always know that our accommodation is going to be properly sanitized. We would definitely recommend staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown when visiting Pittsburgh!

Overall we had an amazing time in Pittsburgh and the city really surprised us! It did rain quite a lot while we were there — and that is to be expected! Definitely prepare for rain whatever time of year you visit. If you want to see more of what we got up to in Pittsburgh, make sure you check out our Pittsburgh Travel Guide on our YouTube channel!
