We went to Seattle for pretty much less than 24 hours for an event, but you know us and we will take any opportunity we can get to explore a new city haha. We had never been to Washington State before and even though we knew our time in Seattle was limited, we wanted to make the most of it! We definitely think you can see a good chunk of The Emerald City in 24 hours so here is our guide on what to do with one day in Seattle!

Where to Stay in Seattle

Since we were here for a work event, we stayed at the Aloft Hotel near the SeaTac airport. We wouldn’t recommend staying near the airport since it’s about a 30 minute Uber drive to the downtown area. We would definitely say to stay closer to downtown Seattle, we really loved the Capitol Hill area the best!

The Capitol Hill area of Seattle — otherwise known as the gayborhood — is one of the most welcoming LGBTQ+ areas of a city we have ever been to. There are so many pride flags, rainbow crosswalks, and LGBTQ+ bars, restaurants, & shops. We felt 100% comfortable being ourselves in Capitol Hill & even went into a few of the queer bars in the area. It’s one of the best ‘gayborhoods’ out of any city we’ve ever been to and we definitely want to go back one day and explore even more!
