Park City, Utah is the ultimate winter destination in the USA. They have everything you need to have the perfect winter getaway, even if you don’t want to ski or snowboard! We visited Park City for the first time and were very impressed by how much there was to do and see. We didn’t ski or snowboard when we visited, but Park City has so much to offer, even if you can’t or chose not to do those activities.

Where to Stay in Park City

We stayed at The Pendry Park City and has the most amazing experience! The hotel staff was so warm and welcoming, and also extremely helpful with carrying our bags and giving us tips on what to do in the area. They did turn down service most nights, and had great restaurants on site. It’s also a ski in-ski out hotel so if you did want to ski or snowboard, The Pendry would be perfect for you as well. We would absolutely stay here again next time we visit Park City.

How to Get Around Park City

We highly recommend renting a car if you want to explore outside of your hotel. Park City has a great Main Street & downtown area, as well as fun winter activities you can do besides skiing or snowboarding. The hotel we stayed at was inside of a winter village so there were a lot of ski in-ski out hotels there, but it was about 20-30 minutes from downtown Park City. Things in Park City are pretty spread out so you will need a car to get around.

Also, the best way to get to Park City from the Salt Lake City airport is to drive. It’s about a 45 minute ride in the wilderness so we definitely recommend renting a car for this trip. We love renting cars with Expedia because they are trustworthy, have tons of options, and we have never had an issue when renting a car through them!

Best Things to Do in Park City

Snowmobiling Tour

Main Street

  • Try Snowmobiling - We tried snowmobiling for the first time ever in Park City and absolutely loved it! We went on a tour with North Forty Escapes and had the best time. It was easy to get the hang of and the views from the top of the mountain were epic!

  • Do a Walking Tour on Main Street - Or you can just explore Main Street yourself! We did a walking tour and learned so much about the history of the city and how it came to be what it is today. Main Street has tons of great shops, restaurants, cafes, & bars so you definitely want to stop here on your trip.

  • Do a tasting at Alpine Distilling - We went to Alpine Distilling for a liquor tasting and were obsessed! We both tried their homemade gin, but they also had whiskey and vodka that they make themselves. Also The Pendry served Alpine Distilling spirits at their hotel bar, so it was great to see the city support a local business!

  • Obviously, go Skiing and/or Snowboarding - We have been skiing before, but even if you haven’t, Park City is a great place the learn. The snow is powdery (meaning it’s soft if you do fall) and there are so many first-timers of all ages doing lessons as well as experts.
