Vegan Guide to Malta
Since we both eat plant-based, whenever we visit a new country we are always searching for the best vegan options. In Malta we found it pretty easy to find vegan food overall. The local food is not necessarily vegan, but there are certain local dips and side dishes that are naturally vegan. We found a lot of places all over the country with vegan options and didn’t have trouble finding vegan food at all (as long as you did your research!). We didn’t see many up-to-date vegan guides when we were planning our trip so we wanted to make one to make it easier for other vegans & plant-based people to find options while in Malta! Sunday in Scotland - Our favorite cafe in Valletta! It has really cute vibes, non dairy milk options, and vegan chocolate.
Soul Food - Vegan & vegetarian restaurant in Valletta! It was delicious and the menu had tons of different cuisine options to choose from.
Pastaus - Italian restaurant in Valletta that had pasta dishes with vegan options.
Im Pasta - another Italian restaurant in Valletta that had pasta dishes with vegan options.
Coffee Circus Lisboa - cafe with non-dairy milk options & some vegan snacks.

Bianco’s Pizza & Pasta

Salumeria Gardens - one of our favorite restaurants in Malta but we never got a good picture of the food because we ate too quickly haha. The vibes were amazing and they had a few vegan options for pizza.
Bianco’s Pizza & Pasta - this place also had amazing pizza and even vegan cheese!
Gululu - a local Maltese restaurant but you could order a bunch of sides/tapas that were naturally vegan.
Two Buoys - Australian restaurant on the water with some vegan options for food.
NAAR Restobar - We found this place by accident and they had great vegan options for breakfast!
Lot Sixty-One Coffee Roasters - Great cafe with vegan pastries & non-dairy milk options.
Crust - A local cafe with a few vegan options for meals (like a beet burger!)
Mood Cafe - This was a very local cafe but the barista made us a vegan sandwich when we asked him too! He was super sweet and accommodating.
Mdina
Coogi’s Restaurant & Tea Garden - Probably our favorite meal in Malta! They had tons of vegan options of the menu and what we both ordered was amazing.
Sliema
Caffe Berry - One of our favorite cafes of the whole trip! They had amazing coffee, non-dairy milk options, and vegan pastries & sandwiches.
Balance Bowl - we never got to try this place but it’s an all vegan restaurant and we heard very good things!
Gozo
Il Panzier
Bistro 23 Four
Il Panzier - Our favorite meal in all of Malta & Gozo! It’s an authentic Sicilian restaurant that specializes in vegan food. We had the best vegan parmesan of our lives here!
Bistro 23 Four - This place was average but had signs that they offered vegan options! We had a vegan burger and vegan ravioli.
Il Kartell - Never got to try this place but we heard really good things!
Alive Bistro - Again, never got to try this place but we heard really good things and it’s a vegetarian restaurant!
