Vegan Guide to Ecuador
We were actually surprised by how many great vegan options we found all throughout Ecuador! We went to a lot of different areas in the country and found vegan options in every single place we visited. We had some amazing vegan versions of local dishes and really didn’t have a hard time finding plant-based options. The only thing we thought was difficult to find was non-dairy milk for coffee. Vegano De Altura - Our favorite vegan resturant in Quito! Everyhting there is vegan and we had delicious coffee and the best vegan ceviche.
Miskay - a higher end restaurant in Quito with great vegan options!
Govinda Gopal Resturante - A great vegan restaurant in the old town area of Quito. We loved the dishes here and even got to pet the restaurant cat!
Vegano to Go - we ordered takeout from here one night and the food was great!

Arepas to Go
Arepas to Go - our favorite meal in all of Ecuador! These were the best arepas we’ve ever had. They have a vegan option on the menu but the chef knows as well so you can just ask for a vegan arepa.
Sativa Studio Cafe - we went here for dinner and it was great! A little bit of a nicer atmosphere than some of the other restaurants and they also had restaurant cats we could pet!
Honey Coffee & Tea - they had non-dairy milk options and a few vegan breakfast choices!
Leprechaun Pub Restaurante Cafe - we went here with our tour group but they had a few vegan options on the menu! The vegan ceviche was amazing.
Cotacachi
Sub’s Station - one of our favorite meals in Ecuador and we ate it on the last day! They had a bunch of vegan sandwich options and the food was amazing.
Red Rabbit Coffee Lounge - A cute cafe with non-dairy milk for coffee!
Santa Cruz, Galápagos
Bahia Mar
Plaza El Jardin
1835 Coffee Lab - great coffee with non-dairy milk and a few vegan options to eat.
Bahia Mar - probably the best vegan ceviche we had on the trip! Also the view from here was beautiful.
Plaza El Jardin - a fun spot for drinks that had a few vegan options on the menu.
San Cristobal, Galápagos
Green Island
Chakana
Midori - an amazing Japanese restaurant with a bunch of vegan options on the menu! Their vegan sushi was epic.
Chakana - a healthy food restaurant with great vegan options. We went here with our tour group and absolutely loved the food.
Green Island - a cute little cafe with coffee, non-dairy milk, juices, and smoothies.
