We visited Ibiza for the first time as a stop on our Virgin Voyages Cruise. We were excited to finally get to go to an island we had heard so much about, but we are also not big party people so we weren’t sure if Ibiza would be our favorite place ever. But we were so surprised with how much we loved it there! Yes, Ibiza has a big party scene, but the island is beautiful and there are so many other things to do that don’t just involve partying all night long. We fell in love with Ibiza in the two days we spent there and felt like we had a pretty chill and relaxing experience, so we wanted to share what we did with you!

Where to Stay in Ibiza

Since we visited Ibiza on a cruise, we didn’t stay at an accommodation on the island. However after visiting, we would recommend staying in the main city area of Eivissa and then either driving or taking a taxi from there to wherever you want to go. It’s the easiest to get a taxi or other transportation from the city center because there are a few different taxi stands & port hubs. Whenever we book accommodations we like checking Expedia or Hotels.com because we always get the best deals!

How to Get Around Ibiza

The best way to get around Ibiza is by local taxi. There is no Uber or Rideshare in Ibiza. Taxis are pretty easy to come by though. You can find taxi stands in the main areas of the town where you can grab one, or wait in line for one if it’s busy. You can pay with either card or cash as well. We walked or used taxis to get around Ibiza and had a great experience. You can also rent a car, motorbike, scooter, etc. if you choose as well. Since we were only there for 2 days, we didn’t think that was necessary for our trip. If you want to rent a car in Ibiza, we recommend renting with Expedia. We always rent our cars with them and have always had a great experience!

Best Chill Things to do in Ibiza

Cala Comte

  • Explore Dalt Vila - The fortifed, old “Upper Town” of Ibiza. Here you will find stunning, panoramic views of the island, as well as shops, restaurants, cafes, & bars. It’s a great place to hangout with a view! It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Visit The Castle of Ibiza - At the top of Dalt Vila you will find the Castle of Ibiza. You cannot go inside but from the top you will see amazing views of the island and learn some history about this medieval fort.

  • Check out the Ibiza Port Market - We stumbled across this on accident and loved it so much! We found out this market is the oldest street market in Ibiza! It’s a bunch of local vendor shops with everything you can imagine. It’s also right along the waterfront so the view is beautiful as well. The market is there every day so definitely make sure you check it out. There are also other night markets in Ibiza depending on where you are on the island. Another popular one is the Las Dalias & Punta Arabí  Markets.

  • Explore Eivissa (Ibiza Town) - Eivissa is cute, island town with lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, you name it. But what we loved about it the most was the gorgeous winding streets. They were beautiful during the day, and came alive at night as well. There is no right or wrong way to go, but let yourself get lost exploring Eivissa because you will find some cute shops, restaurants, bars, and amazing views too.

  • Visit some of the beautiful beaches - There are so many beautiful beaches to visit in Ibiza, but since we had limited time we decided to take a taxi to Cala Comte. We loved it there, and we could have spent all day but we had to head back eventually to get back on the ship haha. We definitely recommend getting there early because there are no chairs at the beach, and the spots on the sand/rocks get taken up quickly. There was a restaurant next to the beach that did have some chairs to rent, but most people just took a towel and sat in the sand. Other beaches you should check out are Cala d’Hort, Cala Tarida, & Cala Escondida.

  • Other things you can do in Ibiza: A day trip to Formentera, a snorkeling boat trip, you can also look into day passes at a beach club! We looked into it but decided just taking a taxi to the beach was best for us. But if you want a more luxurious experience, you can look into that.
