One Day in Des Moines, Iowa
Des Moines, shockingly to us, was one of our absolute favorite places we visited on our trip. We weren’t expecting much since we came from Omaha which didn’t live up to our expectations, but Des Moines is one of those hidden gems. The city is very clean and beautiful, it has a trendy vibe, and there is actually a lot to do. We were in Des Moines for less than 24 hours so we didn’t get time to see everything we wanted to, but (as usual) we saw as much as we possible could during our trip! Des Moines is one of those places we wouldn’t hesitate to go back to. Keep reading to see our can’t miss tips for Des Moines!
Where to Stay in Des Moines
We stayed at Hilton Des Moines Downtown and absolutely loved it there! It was probably our favorite hotel we stayed at on our entire trip. Hilton overall has been taking amazing measures in regards to COVID-19 that made us feel completely safe. Hilton has implemented a CleanStay program in partnership with Lysol to make sure each and every hotel room is completely sanitized. Hilton Des Moines Downtown is in the perfect location to everything you want to see in the city. We walked almost everywhere, and any place we couldn’t walk to was just a short drive away. Our room was extremely spacious and had an amazing view of the city. If you need somewhere to stay in Des Moines you absolutely have to stay at Hilton Des Moines Downtown!
