After New York City, Boston is probably the next most popular city on the East Coast. It’s a lively city with a ton of history and a pretty long list of things to do and see. We also decided to visit Salem (which is about 40 minutes away) and is known for the witch trials held there in the late 1600s. Boston is only about a 5 hour drive from New York City making it perfect for that much needed weekend getaway.

Where to Stay

We stayed at an Airbnb in Cambridge which is about 20 minutes from the heart of Boston. Cambridge is the college town where Harvard, MIT, and Boston University campuses are. Because it’s a college town, there are a lot of young people around and a bunch of trendy things to do. We loved staying in Cambridge but it was very hard to park our car there. Learn from our mistakes and if you do a road trip to Boston make sure the place you’re staying at has parking!

A few days in Boston is all you need to see it all. We definitely want to see what it’s like in the Summer (since we visited in February) because there are a lot of harbor walks we would be able to do without freezing our butts off! Although, next time we’ll book an Airbnb with a parking spot haha.
